Fashion Trends of the 1965’s

Fashion trends of the late 1960s were a lot different than they are today. Women wore long pants, denim skirts and very short cowboy boots. Men generally had on basic cowboy shirts, plaid pants and black cowboy boots. The clothing design took the world by storm and remained popular for many years, but with the current fashion designs even today it’s still fun to dress in the styles of the past.

The fashion trends of the era laid the groundwork for the current fashion trends that we observe today. Women’s clothing at the time consisted of short dresses, skirts and blouses with high collars. Men’s clothing generally consisted of work shirts, solid colored pants with frills or tartan accents and leather jackets. Black was not a color many people wore in the early days of fashion, but with the rise of the Black Power movement it became more popular and is now seen as quite stylish. Even then there were no ties as we use them today and many women would tie their dresses with a decorative ribbon rather than a string.

These were some of the fashion trends of the era, and they remain popular today. Although the fashion industry has changed dramatically since then, these fashion styles are generally seen in both men and women’s clothing. Remember, if you want to look good you should always dress according to the current fashion trends. It’s important to go with what you think will make you look your best. If wearing something is really important to you and is what you feel comfortable in, don’t let anyone stop you from having that dress or shoes you like!
